Garage Guide No. 3: Wax, Sealant, or Something Stronger?

Garage Guide No. 3: Wax, Sealant, or Something Stronger?

Walk down any detailing aisle and you will find wax, sealant, glaze, and coatings, all promising a deep shine. Here is how to think about them without the jargon.

Wax

Wax gives a warm, rich look and is easy to apply. It does not last as long as the other options, so it needs to be refreshed more often.

Sealant

Sealants are synthetic and generally last longer than wax. They tend to give a sharper, glassier look and are a good fit for a daily driver that sees all four seasons.

Coatings

Coatings are the longest lasting option, but they ask for more preparation and cost more up front. They are worth a conversation if you want long-term protection.

So which one?

It depends on how you drive, where you park, and how much time you want to spend on upkeep. Ask us at your next visit and we will help you pick what fits your vehicle and your budget.
